DIE HARD [1st Investigation]

It's been almost a week since the X-Class Akudama found themselves in Dotonbori, and the days since Bunny and Shark's little announcement have gone on, seemingly falling on deaf ears. But now, as the sun begins to rise and turn the hanging smog red across the sky, it truly seems that blood is in the air. Not a soul is around on the streets... who will be the first to venture out?

[There's plenty of bloody things to be checking, Rachel. It's time to get started and work piece by piece.

For starters! The pool of blood -- noticeable as soon as one enters the rooftop area. It's a quite considerable amount of blood. There's enough blood that, even now, all the liquid still is fresh enough to get onto you if you touch it. Better be careful.]

[As per usual, he's probably hanging out on a rooftop somewhere even at this early hour -- the sunrise isn't particularly spectacular, though the smog gives it a little blood-red je-ne-sais-quoi. It's all very thematic.

It isn't very hard to find the bodies once their very own cartoon show really gets going, particularly when Flowey's text comes jangling in next; what a noisy morning. He stays above as he does a cursory examination of the mess down below. His expression stays more or less the same.]

What did you kill for?

[It's just a murmur to the air. His lip curls a little, but that's all.]

[There doesn't seem to be too much damage on the back. Looks like turning her over will be necessary to find out just how badly this body is looking!]

[Well, now he's even more curious. But he won't simply be a brute about it.

He carefully pulls one of his swords free and uses it to open the box!]

[ That part is said firmly and slowly, like he's speaking to a little kid. ]

If you want to assist with this, you could take some pictures for evidence and investigate the area around the body while I examine the wounds. How does that sound?

[All the more reason to watch her step. But she does look closely enough to check and see that yeah... still wet.

[Right away it's pretty clear from a look that Debbie has suffered some...quite serious injuries. Visible right away is the back of her head. It's quite tender looking, in fact]

[Next! You have two ways to proceed, Rachel -- there's an object currently lying pretty close to the pool of blood. There also are bloody smears on the far end of the blood, leading away from it.

[* ...That's a wound, right? 80% sure that's a wound. ...85%. So someone whapped Debbie on the back of the head hard enough to kill her, it seems. He snaps a photo and will begin seeing if Debbie has anything in her pockets and the like and even try to access her inventory, if possible.]

[Rachel decides to turn her attention to the object first. Because it might be a weapon.]

[Zenos pulls a face. Medical supplies in a pharmacy?? Boring.

He perks up and looks around the room, ignoring the bumbling bots to see if anything else stands out.]

[There is a bit of a smell! How often does Satsuki come to the karaoke bar?]

[ Roger. Turning to Akira for a moment — ]

If you could look over my clothes briefly so you can attest that any blood that might transfer from the body when I touch it wasn't on me already?

[ People will probably trust Akira's word more than any crime scene selfie he could take. Not that all the red he wears makes it easy, but he doesn't appear to have any blood on the clothes he's wearing if checked!

So, whenever that's settled, he'll get down on the sidewalk and carefully lift Marcille's body up to turn her over. Does anything else feel broken in her torso or anything as he moves her? ]

[Anything is a weapon if you use it with enough force, no?

Regardless, the object Rachel will find is a staff -- a staff that, perhaps, she has seen at least once before in Marcille's hands. Now it's lying there, almost right onto the edge of the pool of blood.]

I'll just leave my comments here: the marks were far up the wall, right up to my eyes.

I can also safely say the missing razor was used to kill Sorcerer, and the missing gloves were for easy cleanup and disposal.

[ She may have scoped it out a couple of times over the week... as a potential place for a certain type of meal. As such, it isn't one of her most frequent destinations, but she has been in and out of it a few times. ]

And now she has a staff!! Definitely could have been a weapon. But definitely definitely evidence, so she's taking that. Is there anything on the staff? It was outside the pool of blood but are there any marks (or blood) on it anyway?]

[In the end, his gaze goes back the way he came. The shelf. Not bent down to look at the floor in front of it this time, a dull gleam catches his eye. The scalpels scavenged from the execution division...

One of them is missing.

Other than that, so boring. So clean. What a waste of time.]

[Absolutely yes. Her torso feels pretty tender -- broken ribs, most likely. Thankfully, nothing seems to have broken through the skin, but just from the feel it's pretty clear these are some pretty serious fractures.

Something else may be noticeable as soon as he turns it over, though: a cut on Marcille's throat, still stained with blood. It's not the only grostesque finding this corpse will have, but it certainly is the most noticeable one right away!]

[Well, now that's out of the ordinary. And the bots probably aren't behind it. A sly grin flashes across his face before he fumbles his teeny phone out of his pocket and snaps a few pictures that come out mostly blurry or with a finger in front of the lens. He keeps the least blurry and deletes the rest.]

[The staff seems to be pretty much intact! It doesn't even have any blood on it, fortunately the blood didn't get onto it despite its proximity. Looks pretty well cared for -- Marcille really must have tried hard to keep her staff on top shape.

All in all, no marks or evidence to be found on the staff itself.

When she takes it, though, she'll notice something a little strange-looking not too far away from it. It's not an object -- it's blood, but the shape is decidedly strange. Getting close to it for a good look is necessary, though!]
