Well... I know that some of these cartoons I watched are "anime" now. I guess they decided to air them in America. I first saw Astro Boy and Gigantor around 1963...ish? Speed Racer came later but it was while I was in Vietnam, I mostly know it from what Mikey told me in letters. When I got back I got to see a few episodes with what little time I had to relax.
