FINAL WEEK
Starting Saturday, the layer of clouds in the sky is more solid than ever. Overcast, reflecting the neon light of the city. By Sunday, you'll see more colors than ever, as several new areas are added to the span of your probation. And some areas aren't, but might see an approach anyway. Do the pods containing six weeks of treatment daunt you in the slightest now that judgment awaits at the end of the fourth week? Though faithful treatment participants only experience flashes on the upper third of their bodies now, their counterparts will experience occasional waves of isolating existential coldness. Does your physically present overseer have anything to say for herself? Just remember one thing: Kanto is watching and waiting.

Rideaux slips in through the door just after the sword goes through their target— who, it turns out, has a little more spunk than he would have given him credit for. A shame he won't get very far with a wound like that. ]
Don't think so.
[ He's on him after only a second, grabbing him by the collar from behind and taking a look at that phone he's holding — anything interesting to see here, or does Loyalist just really want to get a selfie with him?
He's ready to make a quip about the dramatic irony of their timing, when it registers with him what they're looking at on the other side of this door — the walkway between buildings, the bridge — and he just shakes his head with a soft, bitter laugh before taking out one of his knives and leaning in to speak directly into the Loyalist's ear. ]
Loyalty really never pays off like it should. Too bad.

One says "Input received! Please wait for confirmation." The other is an unlabelled phone line that had connected. When Loyalist sees this window, there's hope in his eyes. Someone was listening! ...but Rideaux has finished his sentence, is moving on to the next one, and they're silent. No luck. The best the Loyalist can do for himself is stand there, since at least he's been stopped in his tracks that were dislodging even more blood from the chambers of his heart than absolutely necessary. And, hey, they're out of the perfect fidelity of the holobooth. Why not force one last unsettling smile for the audience he has, instead of the audience he worked so hard to gain.]
...to Kanto? Apparently not.
[He glares at the phone, as contemptuously as Sephiroth once.]
You... wanted this, didn't you? All... that time.
[With that, his eyes close, and he collapses into Rideaux's support. Though warmth lingers for now, effectively, Loyalist is dead.]

His words seem to be spoken for the receiver...who he wouldn't be surprised to be the Populist or one of the other politicians. Politicians are, at their core, always the same. They care little for the people beneath them, and instead make themselves out to be better than the rest.
Sephiroth doesn't care about their lives all that much, but they all sat and watched the rest of them play along in this little game, and have a part to play in their stay. He'll crush them all the same in the end.
The next part of this final act remains to be played out. ]
What amusing final words from someone who dared to scorn one powerful than him all this time.
[ Sephiroth begins to turn away. His next target will be The Populist or The Governor. Whomever he happens to get to first, and so he begins to walk away...if Rideaux wants to say something before he fucks right off, he sure can. ]

At Sephiroth's words, he just gives a noncommittal hum; his feelings about them are just mixed enough that he isn't immediately sure how he wants to respond to that, and he doesn't want to dwell on it long enough to decide.
He removes the Loyalist's glasses and takes a quick look through them to gauge how bad his vision was — can he get away with wearing these as he leaves the building? — and raises one hand in a wave. ]
See you back at the den of criminals, I suppose.
[ Or on the news, failing that. ]

[ Or, yes, the news before then.
But at this time he leaves, teleporting to who the hell knows where.
That's one down. ]

By the time you get a better look, you realize that the caller has hung up. It seems to be a burner phone with very little to do besides sanitized calling and the "request submission" app that was awaiting "confirmation". There is a notes app with one file in it, though.]
It appears in its current decay, Kanto cannot keep the lid on secrets when met with interference… a skosh annoying, but nothing a bit of preparation cannot fix. It is a bit old fashioned, but I am certain keeping my memories organized in a diary will prevent them from tumbling out - whether in conversation or otherwise.
I met Zealot and Physicist by chance, in a most drastic situation - why, it would be more accurate to say that they caught me red-handed. As such, I had never been more relieved to discover the two of them were Akudama. They knew nothing of the word, but Kanto - for better or worse - makes no mistakes in this regard. I immediately took advantage of its omniscience. Killing them would be cleaner, but I sincerely had no desire to. Because of the miracle that brought them to me, I believed it would be a waste. Though I was at my lowest, I was able to reason with them. I offered them power in Kansai for their cooperation. I believed in their ambitions.
The “killing” game exists for them as much as it does for me. There is no time whatsoever for regret.

Anyway, this is all pretty interesting. He'll copy the notes to his own phone in case this vintage piece of crap bites the dust.
Anything to be gleaned from looking at that app that had the "wait for confirmation" message? What kind of app is it supposed to be? ]
